If you're willing to part with them, we would love to have them! There are just a few rules to keep in mind:

 

We DO ask that you schedule an appointment, either in person or by calling (704) 455-8407.

We DO take in gently used books in exchange for TRADE CREDIT.

 

We DO NOT pay cash for books.

The Trade Credit that you earn will be equal to 1/2 of the resale value of your books. 

We keep track of Trade Credit in our computerized database, so there's no points or punch cards to keep track of. Your credit also never expires, so it's here as long as we are! 

You can use your earned trade credit to pay for HALF THE COST of the used books you purchase ~ the other half can then be paid for using cash, personal check, or credit card.

NO MATTER HOW MUCH TRADE CREDIT YOU HAVE, THERE IS ALWAYS SOME PAYMENT REQUIRED FOR EVERY TRANSACTION ~ SORRY, BUT THE LANDLORD WON'T TAKE BOOKS IN PAYMENT!

We sell, and therefore accept, a WIDE variety of used books, both Fiction & Non-Fiction. 

However, we DO NOT TAKE:

• Hardcover books that are missing their dust jackets

• Reader's Digest Condensed Books

• Harlequin / Silhouette Romance series books

• Textbooks, encyclopedias, or reference books

• "Ex-library" books or gift books

• Non-fiction titles published before 2010, with the exception of some history books

• Damaged books, including those with missing or significantly damaged covers, water damage/stains, mold, or mildew. 

 

We may refuse books for ANY REASON, including the book's popularity, age, or condition, or if we are "overstocked" on the title. We have a limited work area, so it doesn't take much to swamp us! For this reason, we do request that you trade no more than 40 items total (of any combination of genres or formats) during each scheduled appointment.​

 

We do our best to process your books as quickly as possible so that you can begin using your credit, but please understand that the review process, like all good things in life, does take time. If you would like to bring in more than 10 books at any given time, please allow at least 72 hours for us to sort and input your books. 

If you leave your books with us for review, we will call you with your updated Trade Credit information and keep any unaccepted items aside for you to pick up (pick-up must occur within 3 business days, after which books will be donated to a local charity). If you do not want your books back, we will make sure they are put to good use! Reduce, Re-read, Recycle!
